Arthur M. Cotliar, M.D.

I saw Dr Cotliar because 4 people had good results with their cataract surgery. The staff was nice, professional and accommodating whenever possible. The waiting room is clean but in need of updating. Some patients weren’t wearing mask at all times and were speaking on cell phones. Unfortunately most of my appointment time was spent in the waiting room( 2 hours) . I saw various staff during my appointment time and Dr Cottliar for 10 minutes. In these pandemic times that is too much time to spend with too many people.

Eye Care & Surgery does not even deserve the 1 star, but Google doesn’t let me choose less. DO NOT COME HERE!!!!! I MADE THE BIGGEST MISTAKE COMING HERE!!!!!!! This practice is all about making as much money as possible. They schedule a large amount of patients for the same time. You arrive shortly before your scheduled appointment thinking you’ll see the doctor shortly to find out there’s probably 5+ more people with the SAME appointment time. Plan to spend minimum TWO HOURS going back and forth between the waiting room and eye testing machines before even seeing the doctor. This practice has absolutely NO respect for a patient’s time. Eye Care & Surgery is an absolute embarrassment. I highly advise you seek out the care of a practitioner that actually cares about you and your time NOT one that tries to see a 100+ patients in one day to make large profits. Any good reviews on here must be written by the staff because the entire waiting room was upset about the waiting time!

There are not enough words to express my gratitude to Dr Arthur Cotliar and his staff for the most incredible and successful cataract surgery in both of my eyes. It was a complex surgery. I was highly nearsighted for most of my life. I wore contacts(which I kept loosing) and glasses (pretty thick and aesthetically not very appealing) since very young age. My eye sight was never optimal. Then, another factor kicked in: Age! We can’t escape it ….. it’s all good, new experience , ha ha ha…. I developed cataract which overtime became dense (waited too long to have the surgery) Being a practicing MD it was difficult to find time( most likely a rationalization) and fear of under going eye surgery. A family friend, an MD, whom I highly respect recommended me to see Dr Arthur Cotliar. I did. It was one of my best decisions. Since day 1 of meeting Dr Arthur Cotliar I knew I was in excellent hands of a knowledgeable, caring and kind physician. He gave me back my vision like I had never experienced before. My near and distant vision are Excellent, I don’t need to use reading glasses. Eye focus and sharpness is Exceptionally good!., I feel so happy and enjoy seeing all the beauty around me! Dr. Cotliar is an outstanding professional with a well deserved reputation as an expert in cataract surgery. His office is a well run practice and his staff, especially Paola and Danny, are dedicated and pleasant. The first visit is time consuming and you should expect to be there a few hours as there was extensive testing done. My post op visits were much quicker.

We have been seeing Dr. Cotliar for 5 years and he is very thorough, patient and kind. His office however needs improvement. I brought my grandmother who is using an oxygen tank (although I informed the office of this prior to scheduling her appointment and again reminded them three times while we were there), we waited over an hour just to be seen by the technician. 2 hours later and she still had not seen the doctor. We have never experienced this before and the extended wait time given her limited oxygen was unacceptable.
