After being apprehensive about having my eyes checked, I had a lovely experience at Cohen’s. The first thing you notice is that this a place where everyone is welcome. Then, as you’re just getting settled in to wait for your name to be called, Dorothy will kindly ask if you might like to look at frames while you’re waiting for the doctor. This was great for me as I had been feeling reserved about getting glasses (on top of my aforementioned apprehensiveness) but surprised myself by leaving not only with a clean checkup but a great new (affordable) pair too! I will be sure to go back as my experience is that you can’t go wrong with kindness and being welcoming.

Dr. is amazing with our three girls! She explains things in a way they can understand and is helpful to give us the best options! We also love their selection of glasses and sunglasses! Highly recommend!

If you are a City employee or retiree, and have City vision benefits, DO NOT set foot in this place. In fact, even if you are just any customer with any type of benefits, avoid this place. They ask for all of your insurance information (not just your vision plan coverage), then have a technician run a lot of tests, some of questionable need, and then you see a doctor. The doctor I saw wanted to run even more tests which I declined (I have gotten my eyes examined for glasses countless times; never had to have so many different tests performed) and then demanded that I return for another examination by him in three months. When I asked why several times, he was unable to give me a clear answer other than that he wanted to have another appointment. I declined that too. After finally getting my prescription, I asked the employee at the front counter if I could see their collection of frames that were covered by my insurance. She said they had none, but I could pick out an expensive designer frame and "get a discount" from my insurance company. Of course, that would still cost me several hundred dollars out of pocket. I said I wanted what was covered by my insurance and was told I could take a copy of my prescription and go elsewhere. I left. When I contacted my insurance company, they said they had been informed by this location that they carried the frames and lenses covered by my plan and would investigate. Were they lying to me or to my insurance company? This place is clearly scamming people -- running unnecessary tests, trying to get you to come back for unnecessary appointments so they can collect insurance payments, and lying about what they have in stock to get you to spend more money so they can profit. Don't waste your time here, you will regret it.

The staff was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and took the time to ensure I found the perfect pair of glasses. The eye exam was thorough, and the optometrist explained everything clearly. They have a great selection of frames, and the quality is top-notch. My new glasses fit perfectly and have made a huge difference in my vision. Highly recommend Cohen Eye Optics for anyone looking for exceptional eye care and eyewear!

Dishonest business. The manager decided initially not to honor my insurance at all. Gave me completely false information. A made up number that I get $ 100 off eyeglasses. Just out of thin air. Had to call my insurance company and get them on a 3 way phone call and even then then they back tracked and honored my insurance only partially. Have been going elsewhere for years (just moved to this neighborhood) and most places completely honest. First time a horrible experience. They will lie to you here and then try and sell whatever they can to you for much more than elsewhere. Please avoid.
