John J Kim, MD - SightMD NYC

Dr. John Kim is in a class all by himself. He is simply the best! He removed the cataracts from my elderly eyes two years ago. The close followup care he and my wife delivered was excellent. It was such a joy to clearly see my great-grandchildren when they were born. I treasure the ability to still drive and have no issues. I am living an active, fun, still dancing, and blessed life. Thanking God and Dr. Kim for my sight. I am grateful! Allen Ballard

I do not recommend this location. Here’s why: My mom initially had an appointment scheduled for June 2025, and was contacted last week (March 14, 2025) that an earlier date and time was available, she accepted. When she arrived, the office was full of so many people that she was hoping they were there for a different doctor; they were not! It was over 3 hours before she was called in for dilation. She is 82 years old. Now why would they offer an earlier appointment when they were clearly overbooked?! Her appointment was at 310PM, she arrived abt 245PM.. at 712PM she walked through the door. She lives all of 15mins away from this office. Now, you factor in that time. Terrible! No communication. No compassion. No apologies for the wait. No “sorry we made you miss your ride back home”. Doctor was cold and uncaring. Horrible! This is NYC, we know there’s a wait. But this was beyond ridiculous. If you HAVE to go here, bring lunch, water, a magazine and patience because it’ll be at least 3Hrs before your seen. Even if your 82 years old 😒

My first experience at sight MD the reception was ok, my attendant who take pictures of my eyes were very professional and she make me feel comfortable. I met Dr Kim, he seem like he have some patience you could ask him questions. My appointment was 12:40 pm and when I got through and finished it was 4pm.

The bronx office the staff are extremely nice and professional. Dr. Kim is extraordinary. I trust his service and hope to continue seeing him. My vision is important and Im in the best care. Definitely # Eye Doctor.

Dr. John Kim and his excellent office staff continue to provide the highest quality eye care for me over the past several years, including cataract surgery. I am most grateful.
