New glasses fit feels terrific. Rachel was fantastic with her personalized service on useful recommendations for new frames and options. She came through on a tight schedule delivering 2 glasses within target timing in time for my trip overseas. Very satisfied.

Customer reviews present contrasting experiences. One reviewer expresses satisfaction with Rachel's personalized service, highlighting her helpful recommendations for frames and her ability to meet a tight schedule. They report a positive experience with their new glasses.
However, another reviewer reports a highly negative experience, labeling MK2 Optical as "one of the worst eyewear stores in Chinatown." They allege that the staff prioritizes quick sales over patient satisfaction, particularly with expensive progressive lenses. The reviewer claims the staff is unhelpful regarding adjustments and redos, attributing this to laziness and a focus on maximizing profit. They also allege that the staff provides incorrect information about lenses and coatings.
This reviewer also mentions that MK2 Optical is part of a chain with other stores in Chinatown, specifically naming Mott Street Optical on Mott Street, and advises potential customers to avoid both locations. They claim that a former honest and hardworking staff member was fired, suggesting a culture that does not value such traits.
These conflicting reviews suggest a potential inconsistency in service quality and staff helpfulness. Potential patients should be aware of the reported negative experiences, particularly regarding progressive lenses and staff interactions, while also acknowledging that some patients have had positive experiences with staff members like Rachel.

Jan 28, 2025 · Richard ChinloyOne of the worst eyewear stores in Chinatown. They don't really care if you get the most benefit from the expensive progressive lenses. They just want to get you something, take your money and that's it. They think most people wouldn't know much about progressive anyway. They would tell you it can't be redone if you don't feel comfortable, unless the exam degrees are wrong. You can't change models or corridor lengths. The fact is, it takes time to call the lens vendors for redo, and they don't make additional money for the extra work, so they would say it can't be done, while most stores can. And in fact, if you call the insurance company, they would tell you that it can be replaced once. All the staff there are just lazy and don't want to do anything for you that don't make extra money. There used to be an honest and hard working staff there who would go the extra mile but they fired him. Other staff there would also just give incorrect info about lens and coatings but said that guy was inexperience. But if you go ask other stores the same questions, you will know who is telling the truth. I guess honest people don't fit their culture so they have to fire him. This store is a chain with different names in Chinatown. Mott Street Optical on Mott street is another store of the same chain. They all work that way. I would stay away from both.

Apr 23, 2023 · Angie MokFirst time customer. I paid 240 dollars for a pair of glasses that I can only see clearly from the bottom but not the center so I have been unable to use them for about 9 months now, relying on my old pair. I asked if they can help fix the issue but because it is after 2 months since purchase they can’t help fix a pair of glasses that are unusable. I don’t always have time to just waltz in to the store whenever I want when I work as a resident in the hospital.. also it seems like the issue is some misalignment on lens/glasses creation on their end so shouldn’t they be able to take care of that for a product I paid for? The lady that helped pick out frames was very nice and helpful when I went through (the first time) and the optometrist was nice.
