Customer reviews for the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai - Midwood present significant concerns regarding patient interactions and administrative processes. One reviewer had a negative experience when calling, stating they were hung up on after inquiring about ENT services, despite the number being listed on Google. This suggests potential issues with phone etiquette or accurate listing of services.
Another reviewer detailed a troubling experience during registration involving digitally signing documents. They were asked to sign three forms without being shown the content beforehand and were told copies would be provided after signing. One of the forms reportedly involved waiving federal consumer protections and agreeing to potentially higher out-of-network costs. The reviewer felt pressured to sign, was refused access to the paperwork before signing, and expressed concerns about being misled regarding a supposed federal requirement. They also reported difficulties in refusing to sign and confusion about how their refusal was documented after the signature was entered. Additionally, they only received printouts for two of the three signed items, raising questions about transparency.
These reviews highlight potential issues with both initial contact and administrative procedures at this location. The reported phone interaction suggests a lack of helpfulness, while the registration experience raises serious concerns about transparency, patient consent, and potentially coercive practices. Individuals considering this facility for eye care should be aware of these reported issues.

Get directionsCalled the number provided here on google looking for ENT. Woman who picked up the phone said, “We don’t have an ENT, this is the eye part!” And just hung up the phone on me.
Feb 27, 2025 · Ally SAt registration they asked us to digitally sign 3 signatures that were required. They will print the forms after they are digitally signed. It was signed and I asked for copies. Prior to signing, I had no idea what was in their paperwork. They won't show me any of it. They said it's privacy acknowledgement forms. One of them expressly says: by signing I give up my federal consumer protections and agree to pay more for out of network care. With this signature I acknowledge that I am consenting of my own free will and am not being coerced or pressured. I asked them what is this about? You refused to show me the paperwork and require this signature from us? The answer was this is a new federal requirement. Go call the federal government. I felt tricked pressured and coerced to signing this. I was told the signature is a requirement and I was told they will show me the paperwork after it's signed. Translation: Mount Sinai is saying It's a new federal requirement that mount Sinai force patients to sign away their rights and pay above and beyond for medical care. I told them I would like to refuse to sign this because it's an option. The front desk said "I don't know go ask my manager." The manager tells her to go back and mark the check box that patient refused to sign. The front desk girl tried and said she can't go back and undo the signature. She then said she will put a note in there to say patient refused to sign. I don't even know what that means since the signature was entered. Of the 3 signature, I only received print outs for 2 items. I have no clue what the 3rd one was. Very shady.
Jan 20, 2022 · Tiny SI Highly Recommend Doctor Christina Cherny, she is a super professional and takes care of her patients. She thoroughly examined my eyesight, and gave me the best advises with a prescription. Thanks to people work at the reception desk as well.
Aug 03, 2022 · George TirkiaThese people are insane crooks or oblivious. When you walk in they want you to digitally sign off on everything with one signature on 24 or 30 pages of financials, disclosures, selling and distribution of your information, open collections, limitless billing and more. No lawyer or person with half a brain would ever blindly sign anything having to do with such a place unless they're blind. I mean seriously they're nuts jobs, such nerve, such fraudulance, very highly unethical medical practice. Unreal. You get minus (-) zero stars.
Dec 07, 2021 · Work GroupI called just to make an appointment given a referral from my doctor. The woman who answered the phone wouldn’t let me finish a sentence and was shockingly condescending and belittling for the entire exchange. I told her I didn’t like her attitude and would look for another provider, and she said, “Fine, whatever.” What’s crazy is I wasn’t surprised! I’ve come to expect bad things from Mt. Sinai. If you can go elsewhere, you might be treated more like a human being.
