Shout out to Lauren and Dr. Alfaro. We went to NJ Retinal today because my husband had a freak accident and damaged his eye. The practice is busy and there is a wait, but it was worth the wait. Our tech, Lauren, was so pleasant, personable and professional. She answered all our questions and did not make us feel rushed. She explained everything that was going to happen while we were there. Once all the images were taken, Dr. Alfaro took over and gave a very thorough exam and explained what he saw and discussed how, even though it was serious, it could have been much worse. He told my husband all the things he should avoid doing which could make the situation worse. He made us feel reassured, while being very direct about what would happen if things did get worse. We were initially concerned because of some of the negative reviews, but we came away glad we went. When you go, make sure you bring your patience, your phone, a good book or something to keep yourself busy. We were there for awhile, but it seemed that the time flew by.

Staff are pleasant and professional as well. Dr. Jennifer Krawitz listened to me carefully and explained things to me in a way I could understand. She answered my questions and did not rush. She is knowledgable, caring, and compassionate. I highly recommend ,NJ Retina and Dr. Krawitz.

The referral process was hell for no reason you are not getting anything another ophthalmologist with a functioning staff can’t do anywhere else. I don’t even know why I was referred to this place like they were specialist who would do something different. It’s not worth your time.

However, Dr. Krawitz was absolutely amazing- thorough, caring, compassionate, and you can tell she knows her stuff. She took the time to answer all of my questions in detail, without giving rushed or vague responses. As someone who is detail-oriented, I deeply appreciate that.
