I have been a patient of Parkway Eye Care for many years( probably 15 or so). It was recommended to me via word of mouth, as Dr. Brown is an African American MD. Never had any issues( wait time is usually lengthy),however, I mentally prepare for that in advance. My son and I had our annual eye exam with Dr. Sulkin yesterday. What a wonderful experience. Minimal wait time( have never been on a Saturday) , very professional and took her time explaining her findings. Fastest visit that I've ever had in this office. Happy that Dr. Brown has an associate to assist with the patient load, minimizing the wait times. Pauline is EXCELLENT!! Knows her stuff when it comes to insurance benefits, frame selection, and just being a people person. She is a definite asset to the practice!!!

I don’t know why this place was EVER recommended to me — the privilege it is to have free health insurance and I would still never use it here. High expectations for patients regarding punctuality, including cancellation and late fees for appointments, and yet I waited nearly 2 hours for an appointment that was scheduled days in advance — I also arrived 30 minutes early and I was never acknowledged nor given New Patient forms to fill until an hour after my appointment time when I requested an update on my queue status! Hot mess, will be returning to my previous office. Don’t waste your time or money, stay far away.

I had an outstanding experience at Parkway eyecare from the moment I walked in the staff was welcoming and professional, the eye care specialist was knowledgeable and took time to explain the process, a special thank you to Pauline who was incredibly kind and attentive. She made the process smooth and comfortable answering my questions with patience and care. Extremely professional. I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for professional eyecare.

I love Parkway Eye Care Center! Blessings upon blessings to Dr. Ruth Salkin. I’ve been a patient here since 2015, and I wouldn’t trust my eye care to anyone else other than Dr Brown (depending on the day). Dr. Salkin is an amazing ophthalmologist—compassionate, respectful, and deeply committed to her patients’ eye health and overall well-being. Her attention to detail and level of care feel like a luxury experience, never rushed. In 2016/2017, I had a serious eye issue and visited an urgent care and an ER in Newark, but they couldn’t help me. After $$$ then drained. When I went to Parkway, Dr. Salkin immediately saw metal in my eye. I don’t know if it was from the gym or walking near metal structures, but I was in extreme discomfort. She was the only doctor who could help me in my urgent time of need. Since then, I have no problem traveling to Irvington for my eye care—it’s worth every penny. The staff, including Ms. Pauline or Danisha at the front desk, is always respectful and welcoming, providing an A+ experience. I truly thank God for this Black-owned medical practice in Jesus name! 🙏💪❤️
