Specs For Less-NY

Been going there for years. They have such a nice array of frames to choose from very reasonable to high end, jose and Judith and Mariela go above and beyond to treat you like family if i could give 10 stars! I would. would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Rosa and the owners son are very rude . They treated me very badly,poor customer service. Just because my insurance is Medicaid. There business is able to stay open because of Medicaid and Medicare. They tried to embarrass me in front of other customers, I will never go back there!!

Wish I had taken the time to read a few reviews. There is a real reason why this place has 3 stars and I risked it all still.. I wasted my time.. So they are a local store so I figured I'd give them a shot. Also keep business local. I made an appointment and the specialist there was very knowledgeable per my experience. Another thing can be said about the people in the front desk. There was clearly a line and I was next but was skipped twice. When I went up to the gentleman and tried to ask for help he asked me who had originally helped me and then clarified I had to wait for her as he walked away. The older lady with glasses was helping everyone else but me even though she called me to the counter because I was next. I grew impatient standing there watching her even skip over me again and circle back to her co-worker to help him again with charging a customer their credit card. Clearly here they value scams and $$ above anything else. If you have cash or credit come here they will give you priority over insurance covered clients. After reading a few reviews I know it is best to skip this location. This is why writing a review is important to help other fellow consumers. I will be mentioning all this to the insurance and make a complaint about this location.

Absolutely horrible rip off place. I agree with the other 1 star reviews. Stay away!!!!! I wanted to go there because it is local and the name indicates a bargain, but it was overpriced and a waste of valuable time. The older lady who waited on me was very distracted. No one in the store but it took her forever to help me. First she demanded my ins card and prescription before letting me see any glasses or giving me any information. After I gave her all of that then it took her forever to actually come back and help me. She constantly found tons of other things to do and aimlessly wondering around before finally coming back to me and telling me Lenses start at $610! $610 is outrageous even for nyc. No specs for less here! I just left, I didn't tell her I had called a few days before and was told progressive lenses start at $400 which, by the way, is already higher than other optical places in NYC. Which is a shame because I may have been willing to just buy the frames with my insurance but I felt like I was being taken advantage of so I just left immediately. There's a reason there's so many bad reviews! Place is dirty, service is terrible, prices are high.

Bought a pair with insurance. It still cost 300$ upwards. Bit the bullet because I badly needed glasses that time. Buying online would be significantly cheaper with or without insurance. They also don't repair any glasses that was not bought from their store. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Never again. Worst place to go. Poor customer service.
