Accurate but doctor was very rude and rushed. Treated me like a kid asking me unnecessary question and advice like it was my first time having glasses. Rushed the appointment and was very harsh. Wouldn’t go again. Equipment was also cheap, didn’t have a flashlight to check eyes (had to use phone) BEST ADVICE: If you have a strong prescription I wouldn’t recommend this optical, their lenses aren’t as well And won’t give you the strength you need.

Mar 05, 2025 · You Yes youI had a terrible experience at Sterling Optical in the Bronx. They never properly tested my eyes—just took my old glasses and made a slight adjustment, which ended up being worse. No thorough exam or proper equipment like other optical places use. Since getting the glasses, my eyes have been watering non-stop, and when I returned, they dismissed it, telling me my eyes would "adjust," which is not the problem. The glasses feel cheap and poorly made, and honestly, I’m considering legal action because I’ve never had this issue before. I highly recommend avoiding this place if you want quality service and glasses.

Nov 18, 2024 · Marsha StewartThis location takes my insurance, so I may not have much choice. I will definitely be checking before I need new glasses or contacts. I had an eye exam appointment, and when I showed up, I ended up waiting over an hour to be told I would give it to come back later. It's not a problem, but you will see why I mention it. Anyway, 3 hours later , I called and told the Dr finally arrived. I went in and had the exam and then ordered contacts at the end of August for my October trip. I was told it would take two weeks. After three weeks, I called, and the lady was rather rude and said they would call when they arrived. Days before my trip I call no one answers. So I go to the store and find them closed. I hang around the area and open over an hour late. Finally, I am told they are on back order. They were nice and gave me some contacts to wear during my trip and that front desk person is extremely nice. At the beginning of December, I recall the contacts and call. I am then told they will be in the following week and they will call when they arrive. Which they did. I went to the location to pick them up, and when I arrived, there was a lady with her child getting fitted for glasses. She offered to let him help me, and he said, "No, they can wait." Forty minutes later, he finally asked what he could do to help me. Every time I went in, the ladies would stop helping me if someone was picking something up, which didn't bother me. I am not sure why this guy makes everyone wait. But I wasted roughly 7 hours dealing with this location in all the delays and waits. I usually wouldn't complain, as life happens. But the attitude, as if your time is not valuable, is what bothers me.
