The Eye Center

The “practice” seems to be incredible disorganized – and that would say it modestly. After booking, and receiving confirmation via ZocDoc, and driving 30 minutes, I am told – no, you do not in fact have an appointment? They explained – despite the fact they use ZocDoc, and that ZocDoc is… an APPOINTMENT BOOKNG PLATFORM, I was informed by them – its basically just an INQUIRY and that if I REALLY wanted an appointment, I also should have called the office!!! Like - stop and let that sink in for a second... So…you might then ask, why use ZocDoc, right? Because that’s what I asked. “Yeah, it’s been something that’s been a problem and we have recommended that they do something about it” I left Lisa, the office manager, a message, as she seemed to be the one that the three women is the Edison office were quick to point the finger at … but, she was in one of those late Friday afternoon meeting that most medical practices have…right? Lisa’s at the Warren office, (the other office) and my guess – all the appointment requests from ZocDoc go to her…maybe? Either way – she didn’t pass along any of the insurance info, drivers license, all the questions answered, etc. and…the appointment was canceled. You know, all the stuff that you enter BEFORE an appointment so that the office can be run as efficiently as possible and save everyone time? I guess my heads up should have been when I arrived :15 min early, gave my last name and the one woman said to the other “that’s him...” (Which, might I add - incredible unprofessional) I can only image the quality of care that patients receive – seems like a bullet may have been dodged here. Of note, the office did not seem large and there were at least 5 people waiting. If you do make an appointment – boy, I would sure call and confirm, and then confirm again, and maybe one more time too – just to be sure.

Absolutely not going again. These guys charge the insurance randomly. For my eye test, it's been 7 years. I haven't been charged a single penny beside co-pay, but here me and my wife and I have been charged for the regular eye check-up, which is pretty much unacceptable and ridiculous. The same kind of test has never been a out of pocket bill, which means there is absolutely something wrong with the charges.

For years I have been going to The Eye Center at Edison, NJ location. I like that it is always clean and they disinfect everything before they do an exam. The staff is very friendly and treat you with respect. Dr. Linda Zheng is wonderful, professional, kind, very knowledgeable, caring, compassionate and always remembers the conversation we had at the previous appointment. I highly recommend both Dr. Zhang and this location.

They're very professional. Attended my husband and me... in a crowded waiting room, on timely and professional way as well as other patients we saw were waiting. 🙂. The girl who does the eye tests is very professional, polite, kind and well mannered. She's explains each step carefully and makes sure we understand. Today was my follow up for glaucoma...and everything was nice and smooth with her way of attending me. I really appreciate the professionalism of this nice girl. The ladies at the front desk are a little rough in their interaction with us, but hey! Maybe they were not having their best day today. Dr a little serious too, but ok. I'd definitely will recommend them to friends and family

The staff was great, very nice environment. Doctor Schaefers was very helpful and asked if I had any concerns about what we discussed. He answered a concern I had and explained to me what I would have to look out for, should I run to a problem. Over all I felt I was heard and that someone cared. Definitely recommend anyone to visit the Eye Crnter in Edison.
