Dr Schwartz has been an amazing vision therapist to our son. She is a combination of clinical excellence, compassion and warmth toward pediatric patients. At a different practice my son could not even sit through a routine eye exam and Dr Schwartz could get him to engage and have fun in vision therapy sessions. She works hard lockstep with parents in their efforts to help their child. She is gifted in working with children and her methods will improve not only vision but will boost cognition overall. He has made gains in reading and math as well. Carolynn and Patty are wonderful to work with and we look forward to our sessions there. Highly recommend this practice!

My 8yo daughter just “graduated” from her vision therapy sessions. She started having double vision 8 months ago and I had no idea what was going on. After taking her to the ophthalmologist who told us she would grow out of it but we could also try vision therapy with an optometrist. Although the ophthalmologist didn’t have much of a favorable view of vision therapy, I appreciated she pointed us to it. I went to another developmental optometrist first- they had lots of patients and it gave me a feeling of more or less a factory. I wasn’t ready to commit to several months of therapy there so I did more search and found Dr. Schwartz. Her practice felt totally different and both my daughter and I loved her and her practice. Everyone especially Dr. Schwartz was kind, caring, and very responsive. We never waited for our appointments and it was easy to book for the times we wanted. Vision therapy exercises can be boring at times especially for kids, but they really try their best to engage the kids. For the first few sessions, we already saw huge improvements and those sessions simply felt like magic to us. I became interested in the therapy as well and Dr. Schwartz even lent me her book about vision therapy. In retrospect I feel lucky we chose Dr. Schwartz because I do see my daughter’s willingness to cooperate depends on the type of connection she has with the therapist. And this is really key to her progress. Our insurance doesn’t cover vision therapy and I heard that’s the case for most policies. If we need to pay out of pocket anyways, why not choose someone who is knowledgeable AND caring? At the end, I feel this experience is really worth it. For us this experience is like the old saying: When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.

I cannot say enough amazing things about Dr. Schwartz and her staff. Dr. Schwartz is extremely knowledgeable and professional. We have learned so much and seen such great progress with my daughter and her vision. Dr. Schwartz and every staff member is kind, warm and so accommodating. They take the time to explain every detail of the diagnosis, treatment plan and home exercises. I am so happy we found them!

Dr. Schwartz has been an absolute life saver. I was referred to Dr. Schwartz for a second opinion after many months of doctors’ visits and therapy with nominal progress. After Dr. Schwartz’s initial evaluation, she was confident in her ability to address my vision challenges. She developed an initial plan of treatment, and the results speak for themselves. Her unique approach to both evaluating and treating issues has been great as I get instant feedback at every session. She challenges me to get the best and quickest results possible based on my progress, constantly re-evaluating next steps. Dr. Schwartz also explains each exercise so I can fully understand the goal. Most importantly, Dr. Schwartz is accessible – my emails or calls with questions and clarifications are always returned more promptly than I would expect. I would recommend Dr. Schwartz without hesitation for others with similar challenges.

Dr. Schwartz and her amazing team (including her adorable doodle!) are incredible. Dr. Schwartz is so great with children, and my daughter’s experience with vision therapy has been nothing but positive. She has shown vast improvement in a short amount of time with vision exercises that are like games that my daughter enjoys doing for her “homework”. Dr. Schwartz is a true gem and I can’t recommend her highly enough!!!! I would give her 10 stars if I could! :)
