My first visit was an emergency due to an eye injury. The doctor begrudgingly squeezed me in, tossed some antibiotics my way, and shuffled me out the door. I was grateful at the time—foolishly so, as it turns out, because that was the only semi-decent experience I’d get. The follow-up visits have been an unmitigated disaster, exposing this place for the chaotic, disrespectful sham it truly is. Take my most recent appointment: scheduled for 11:45 a.m., with instructions to arrive 15 minutes early. I complied, only to be left rotting in the waiting room for over 30 minutes before a cursory 5-minute exam. Then, they dumped me into a second, even more purgatorial "inner waiting room" with no end in sight. I watched in disbelief as 10 people who arrived after me were seen and sent on their way while I sat there, ignored. The staff? Beyond atrocious—snarling, dismissive, and utterly devoid of basic human decency. Not once did they bother to offer an update, an apology, or even a shred of courtesy. A simple “You’ll be seen soon” would’ve been something, but apparently, that’s too much to expect from this wretched crew. Dr. Hirshfield himself is a disgrace—arrogant, incompetent, and seemingly incapable of diagnosing anything beyond his own inflated ego. I recommend him he has done both of my cataract surgeries. He has also a retina specialist in the office. That is awesome. I’ve had my retina reattached and the care that IDr. Hirshfield for about maybe 12 years and I think he is excellent anytime someone have a high problem or they need an eye doctor. Jan 23, 2025 · Inez ReganDr Hirshfield is experienced and gives details how he is treating. The Nurses all are very nice and knowledgeable. The wait time is reasonable. My only complaint is about the front desk receptionist. Perhaps, she was in bad mood that day When I walked up to her desk. She asked if it was an emergency. I said I called 2 days ago and was given an appointment for 10:45 AM. She ignored it but asked me to explain why I came ? I explained why I had to see the doctor. I am just curious if she was instructed to screen patient even with an appointment. I told her that when I called for appointment, I gave details of medical complaints and asked she should not tell me she did not see the record of my appointment. Then quiet. She did not say anything nor told me to wait. When the next patient came to her, she just told the patient to take a seat and wait. IT WAS RUDE. If I am not mistaken, her name is Katherine. She did not hurt me but damages the clinic image. Everybody makes mistakes, let us give her a chance.
Jul 23, 2017 · Stanley “Pingpong9” ChanDr Hirshfield is good, but the workflow in office horrible. unless you have 1st appointment of the day, the waiting just to be called in would be at least 2 hours. then you spend an other 1.5-2 hours inside going form on exam room to an other, waiting, waiting in inside waiting area, waiting outside waiting room. they have a lot of staff there, but its not organized, would take you at least an our to register at front desk. It should not take 4 hours for regular check up exam. We are going there for several years for annual check up, and its getting worse and worse every year . ending up, they "lost" my mother's file (???) and we had to start from beginning again. And now to make appointment, takes like 15 min on phone , the representative who doesn't know office hours, and asking 100 times : are you a new patient?" Again, Dr Hirshfield is great, but the staff are destroying everything.
