My first appointment with Dr. Confino went smoothly, and I left feeling optimistic. However, my experience took a disappointing turn when I returned 10 days later to pick up my glasses. The staff member at the adjacent eye care suite informed me that the glasses were not intended for all-day use. From the moment I put them on, my vision was noticeably blurry, and I felt no improvement compared to my unaided vision. Following their recommendation, I scheduled a recheck. Once again, the technician was kind and professional. During the appointment, Dr. Confino informed me that the previous advice I received was incorrect, stating that I should, in fact, be wearing the glasses all day. When I explained that wearing them made driving feel unsafe and caused headaches, his demeanor shifted. Rather than addressing my concerns, he was dismissive and impatient. He suggested I simply 'adjust' and implied that most patients accept his guidance without question. Despite my efforts to understand why the glasses were causing discomfort while contacts with the same prescription were expected to work better, I was met with frustration. Dr. Confino abruptly ended the conversation, saying there was nothing more to discuss. I strongly believe patients should feel comfortable asking questions and receiving clear explanations about their eye health. Gaining a thorough understanding of why a prescribed treatment may not be working is a reasonable expectation. While I’m disappointed by this experience, I plan to seek a second opinion.

Mar 26, 2025 · S KDr Cofino is great but the center overbooks patients. I waited two hours to complete a 1/2 hour eye exam. Not good scheduling at all.

Dr. Confino is wonderful. He doesn't rush you, speaks in an easy voice with terms you can understand, and is an ace in his field of medicine. Your eyes are in great hands with Dr. Confino and that's the truth!
