Jan 06, 2025 · Nick MI honestly don't know how this establishment and Dr. Siu has such good reviews with how disorganized and non communicative it is. The only good thing was the wait time. I came here based on the reviews and I saw Dr. Siu. Once I arrived for my appointment, I was asked to pay my co-pay. I asked if I could pay afterwards and the front desk said it's preferred to pay first. Why would anyone pay first before services are rendered? Then an assistant did an intake on me. I told her I was there for an eye exam, update my prescription, follow up on my dry eye issues and get the correct eye exams in order to get the OK from the ophthalmologist to take a prescription medication by my rheumatologist. She wrote everything down and dilated my eyes and did some exams with the machines. Before seeing Dr. Siu, another assistant asked me the same questions as the 1st one and I had to tell her again. Once I saw Dr. Siu, she asked me the same questions (Do you all not communicate?) And then she said she couldn't do the other exams for me to give me the all clear for my rheumatologist because my eyes are dilated (shouldn't they have known to not dilate my eyes yet then since I was upfront about it??) and asked I come back another time (I already waited over a month for an appointment). In my previous experiences, I've had opthalmologists sit with me to educate me about my eyes/eyes in general and my myopia, etc. but all she told me were my retinas were fine. I asked about my dry eye and Dr. Siu mainly said "it's up to you" if I wanted to take prescription eye drops. I wanted thorough recommendations and education on risks and benefits and any further testing ...not to be told that "it's up to me." The door to my exam room was open, an assistant came in to tell Dr. Siu that a patient's family member has questions for her so she left me in the room to tend to someone else! She said she'd be back but she never came back. Her assistant then took me to get my eyes checked in order to update my glasses prescription while my eyes were dilated! I've never had to do this dilated before. They usually do all the other exams before dilating my eyes. My prescription ended up being much higher than my current which is likely inaccurate because less than a year ago when I went to get it checked, it didn't change and my eyesight has been somewhat stable for years so it must've been the dilation that skewed it. Then I went to the pharmacy and they said she never sent in any prescription eye drops (as we have discussed; our plan was to try it out and I'd follow up in a month). She only sent in prescriptions for over the counter drops. At this point I was so upset. I completely wasted my time and my day coming to this establishment only to get NOTHING addressed. -My new prescription is wrong because my eyes were dilated. -My prescription dry eye drops never got sent to the pharmacy. -I was not able to get permission to start meds by my rheumatologist because they dilated my eyes and couldn't do the rest of the tests. -Dr. Siu just left me to tend to another patient and made me feel like I wasn't important as a patient and she didn't make sure all my needs were met and all my questions were answered before tending to that patient. Now they're just going to bill my insurance when they did absolutely NOTHING for me. I'm a healthcare worker myself and I've always made sure my patients feel like the only person in the room and that I address any concerns or questions they have to their satisfaction before moving onto another patient. I am appalled at how disorganized it was and how I was treated as a patient. I would not recommend coming here at all.
