I’ve tried other places and no one comes close to Upper Montclair Eye Care for professionalism, frame selection (if they carry the brand, they can get specific frames even if they’re not on display), and excellent customer service. I wear progressives and this year I got my first prescription sunglasses. Couldn’t be happier with UMEC&W!

Mar 20, 2025 · Angel AnnussekBill took care of me. This might have been the single best experience I had in an eye glass store. He was very accommodating, even through all my repeated questions. And he remained smiling till the very end! It was worth the hour-long drive just to see him.

I was then meet by a very rude Dr. Patel, he was very animated and would not listen to my oncerns his only interest was to try and force me into a contact exam that I told him I was not interested in. I was later informed by my insurance company that if the Dr. Speak to you about contacts the office is able to charge a $30 copay where as with preventive there is no co pay. (Money Grab). After going there for so many years I'm now looking for a new office
Nov 29, 2024 · RLQuaint and clean office located down the block from MT Hebron Middle School in Montclair. At the time of our appointment, there was a short wait after signing. No one was in the waiting area but there were patients being seen. Staff were cordial and helpful. Technicians were patient with my kids, taking there time to get the exams done correctly. Paid on street parking is available as as in the rear of the building. Eye doctor seemed knowledgeable and took the time to explain my child’s diagnosis. They accept my insurance (VSP) and I was able to get an appointment within 36 hours. My kids had to get glasses which seems a bit expensive but cannot say with certainty because this our first visit to the eye doctor. Overall, a please experience. I would recommend.
