I came in for an eye appointment. They needed my name, DOB, and social security number, which is fine. However, the employee was just writing all this information on a piece of scratch paper. It seemed unprofessional and potentially dangerous. They should consider providing clients with paperwork that clients can fill out themselves. Anyway, I left and did not get my eyes checked, so I cannot speak to their overall services.

I am in shock at the rudeness of the Sales associate- I popped in as I have had 2 pairs of glasses framed here in the past and even though I found the sales Assc rude the first time I thought I would try again. BIG MISTAKE ! Awful, rude, patronizing, sexist really shocking! I feel for the female Staff that work with him. I wanted to be explained in simple ‘layman’ terms what my lenses were , he took my glasses from me started touching them with pliers without any explanation, I then started touching ask my questions. I was concerned as I have had 2 Pairs almost identical from him In the past and hoped he would tell me which these were, the transition or not, at first he said they were transitional then when I suggested maybe they were not as they were not changing in the sunlight he reluctantly informed me he was wrong they were in fact just progressive. He then decided that he no longer wanted to deal with me and told his associate who was sitting eating pizza to help me So he could help the other customer a guy … seems strange. Then when the helpful femal Assistant started to answer my questions he told her to “Take a break” and not help me🤷🏻‍♀️ - He shouted at me to “Sit down and read my phone” Honestly I was coming in with another pair of frames To get filled with my script but the guy was SO RUDE !! I have lived in Brooklyn Height’s for 20 years and love the sense of community, this guy is not in the right environment to work with customers. I’m Sorry that Cohens don’t want my money but I then went on to see reviews on line and all mention this rude Male Sales Assc and I have never bothered to leave a review ever about someone as we can all have an ‘off’ day but I have found him unfriendly and rude in the past but today I felt I had to take the time to write this.

Previously had nothing but good experiences here in the past. This time around I had my eyes done and a new prescription written. I couldn’t not afford any of the frames there along with my prescription, so I asked for my prescription to be emailed to me so I could get my glasses done online cheaper. I placed my order and my glasses came back completely effed up. To the point where I was sure something was wrong. I went to the store to find out and it turns out they had emailed me the INCORRECT PRESCRIPTION. And instead of at least saying “sorry” (those words were never uttered) I was told repeatedly “this is the correct one” -as he pointed to the one he printed it out to show me. Awesome. Well the glasses I ordered and have been waiting for are now wrong and have to be retuned and remade because I was sent the INCORRECT PRESCRIPTION. Had specifically ordered them to have before the holidays and won’t now. He basically shrugged and told me “it must’ve been computer error” instead of taking any accountability on the situation, showing any concern or say sorry at least. Very disappointing, won’t be coming back here again. I am a photographer and cannot risk having my eyes effed up by a sloppy error.

The staff is extremely helpful and understanding. I have made a few purchases here and they stand behind their work. Highly recommend them.

Great experience today at Cohen’s for the eye exam and lens order. The female optometrist was amazing and explained things to me that my Opthamologist had tried but failed to do. She took the time to do a detailed exam and explain things on a Friday night at 5:30pm. Wai was also super helpful with figuring out my lense order and was very polite. The place had some not so great reviews but I was so pleasantly surprised. Hopefully my glasses will also be great when I get them.- they have verilux lenses so should be top notch. Also they had a faster turn around time than any other optician I spoke with.
