I want to begin by clarifying that this review is not a reflection of the support, work ethic, or service provided by the wonderful staff behind the counter. They were professional, friendly, and helpful in every way and is most likely just doing what they're trained to do. I visited the optical store to undergo a vision test required for my license renewal. The eye doctor who conducted the exam seemed to be in a rush, perhaps because it was later in the day and she was preparing to leave. Unfortunately, this caused the exam to feel rushed and unprofessional. At one point, I had to ask her to repeat part of the test because my forehead was not properly positioned on the machine. After repeating the test, the results were significantly different. Additionally, she asked me to grab the handles on the sides of the machine without noticing that I was holding my hat and gloves. In my experience, doctors are typically aware of what might be needed during an exam and will suggest placing personal items down beforehand. When I asked if I could place my items on a nearby chair, her response was simply, "Just throw them over there," which struck me as unprofessional. **Part 2:** While I initially entered the store with no intention of purchasing glasses, I ended up deciding to browse for frames while waiting for my prescription. After trying on a few pairs, I found a reasonably priced pair at $200. When adding my prescription, progressive lenses without visible lines, and UV blocking coating, the total price came to $899. When I declined to purchase, the counter staff called the owner or manager, who offered me a $200 discount, which I declined. They then offered a $300 discount, which left me feeling frustrated. If there was that much flexibility in pricing, it seemed like the store was overpricing their products and he markup was excessive. While I understand the need for businesses to make a profit, this experience has led me to decide against making any future purchases at this optical store.

Mar 27, 2025 · Cristal CamachoThis place is horrible! I was a client for 4yrs, I did layaways there as a suggestion from them because I couldn’t afford to buy good quality and stylish glasses for my lifestyle, driving, being a sporty mom, to becoming disabled from my job. These people took it upon themselves to get me into Acima credit without my consent I told them no from the get. I owed them $650 that I was about to pay if in another month. These people sold my identity to this day I’m being harassed and treated like a thieve. I never took my glasses from the store they fitted me too big and I’m being charged by Acima $1,893 for it now. I keep getting these links for payments of $63 a month from a year past due. I have tried talking to them, calling them, and Acima about this matter and now Acima is asking me for a police report to take further actions when last year all I got is nasty attitude and stress from being accused and basically humiliated. I called the precinct 43 & they told me to go to small claims this is a civil case. I have to get up early get there at the right time 9am with a $20 for the paperwork to sue them for all this they have been putting me through. Be aware of these people, do not do layaways with them at all!
Jun 23, 2024 · CLoveI’ll be fair and give an extra star because of the good customer service. Come here to do your exam but when it comes to buying frames, do it elsewhere. The prices are insane for frames that aren’t even name brand. For example I picked the frames that my insurance covered and they still managed to come up with a price of $400 plus. People don’t be scared to say no to these thieves like I did. Just ask for your prescription and purchase your frames elsewhere. Or find somewhere else worth your time and money.
May 10, 2024 · bartolomeoActual thieves. I went to get some glasses, my insurance covered it but I wanted to buy some frames. The frames were $359 and with tax, amounted to $414. They mentioned to be they have a financial payment method where I could pay off the frames, I didn’t have to drop that much at one time so I was like sure. They mentioned me paying in increments every week until it was paid off, I do this sometimes with clothing , so I didn’t think nothing of it. I think the manager came out and asked for my phone, I was hesitant at first but was convinced into doing so because the forms were to be filled out electronically through my phone. He was doing a lot of scrolling and signing it I thought it was a bit weird and shady, the worker at the time was telling me that he was just filling out the paperwork for it since they’re accustomed to doing it and it’d be faster. It was for this company called Acima who is a financial leasing company, which I was unaware of at the time. Thought it was weird but then I just trusted the worker, that was my mistake. Anyways, fast forward 5 months, I’m still getting charged and I thought it was strange so I check the contract they signed me up for. I paid over $510 for the frames being $414. And the lease said I was renting the frames, when I wanted to buy them. They were charging me another $414 for the frames and if I didn’t make that payment, they would’ve kept charging me $33 weekly for another 34 months…They coerced me into signing up for something I did not consent to and was fed false information. They signed me up for something where I purposely would pay more money for the frames when I didn’t have too, why the heck would I want to do that. Long story short, these people are scammers and have malpractice, STAY CLEAR FROM HERE AND DON’T SIGN UP FOR ACIMA THROUGH THEM, who charge interest for every lease for no reason and tax every payment you make.
