Exam was excellent doctor very caring. I didn’t like that I was told they take my insurance then received a bill for $500+ my insurance didn’t cover any part of it. Then I get a phone call to ignore that bill that they were going to send to another party? A few weeks later I get the bill again for whole amount. Reason I ask if they take my insurance was if they don’t take my insurance I would’ve gone somewhere else. I don’t have $500+ to pay that bill. One star, because zero isn’t an option. I’ve been taking my son to this office for the past three years, but after this experience, we’ll be looking for a new ophthalmologist. I scheduled an annual eye exam for my 9-year-old with Dr. Rai, his usual ophthalmologist, and it wasn’t until less than 24 hours before the appointment that I received a message saying the doctor was no longer in-network. Unfortunately, as a busy working mom, I missed the call and only saw the voicemail when I arrived at the office that day. Despite the fact that I received two reminder texts the day before, and had already completed the early check-in days earlier, the office didn’t bother to notify me sooner. When I asked why I wasn’t informed earlier, especially when I booked the appointment over a month in advance, the receptionist claimed I scheduled online—something I did not do. The medical assistant was also rude and insisted I had been informed the day before, but offered no real solution. The alternative they offered was a March appointment with another doctor in Millburn, but my son had already missed school and I had taken a day off from work for nothing. This was just the latest of many frustrations with this office. Wait times have consistently been long—at least 3 hours for a pediatric eye exam—and getting anyone on the phone when scheduling is a nightmare. I’ve also had billing issues where the secondary insurance wasn’t billed properly, leaving me with unexpected charges. The receptionist staff are unprofessional, unhelpful, and seem poorly trained for a healthcare setting. I won’t be coming back.

Unfortunately my experience at Hudson Eye (Jersey City location) couldn’t have been any worse. Scheduled appointment was at 2:30, but I had to wait 50 minutes, so my visit started at 3:20. After my visit, I met Dr. Walsman, who actually is really nice and professional: together we agreed to try contact lenses, and see if this could be the best solution for me: I was supposed to receive a set in order to test them, but after two weeks I did not receive anything, and no one got back to me, at least to give me the new prescription - which I paid for - and I have to stick with my old glasses. Tried to call them, no one answers the phone, and I am sick and tired to leave messages without having someone getting back to me. Long story short, I am booking a new visit with another specialist, since here it looks I am at a dead end. Basically a waste of time and money.

I recently had my yearly eye exam at Hudson Eye, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. The staff and doctors were incredibly friendly, caring, and professional. The office is clean and well-maintained, and I only had to wait about 10 minutes before being seen. The exam was thorough, with each detail clearly explained to me. I highly recommend Hudson Eye for anyone in need of eye care services.

Came in 15 minutes early for my appointment, but was not seen after an hour and a half . The funny part was the doctor only saw me for 2 minutes .... a real joke. Waiting area is full of patients, PATIenTLY waiting but annoyed!!!! Will never cone back here!
