I was surprised to see negative review of this place! I was able to get a next day appointment really quickly and easily on their website. When I arrived, the receptionists were really kind and helpful. I was taken in for my appointment pretty immediately. Esther Lee was a great doctor. Anything negative I’d have to say would be about how dated and old the office is- but even so, all of the equipment is new. One other thing- do NOT take the stairs when you leave! You may be tempted to take the stairs and get your steps in, but if you do, you WILL get stuck in the scary backrooms. It was not clear from the signage that these were service stairs and not meant to be used by patients.

Dr burrows great but the staff is literally as bad as it can get for Jersey City, which is already bad. I think that they take all the people to get fired from other medical offices or even fast food and hire them here. Appointments are totally fake you’ll wait at least an hour to be seen regardless, definitely avoid The doctors are great but if you have terrible staff it’s just a waste of your time

I went there because I was having flare ups with my eyes and getting inflammation and styes and I was in there for barely fifteen minutes and I was told everything I already knew and that it wasn’t serious enough and they recommend me a spray I could purchase on Amazon. Then I was charged $130. I didn’t need to go if I was told what I already knew. Waste of time and I still have flare ups.

I had a deeply unsettling and discriminatory experience at Hudson Eye Physicians & Surgeons during my appointment with Dr. Lee on Thursday, 10/10/2024, at 1:10 PM. I arrived early, hoping for a smooth visit, but was immediately met with hostility at the reception desk. The receptionist didn’t acknowledge my greeting, and before I could even finish explaining that I had an appointment, she abruptly and rudely cut me off, saying, “Just put your name down, and when it’s your turn, we’ll call you.” The lack of basic courtesy was jarring. After waiting for some time, I thought I’d be proactive and asked, politely, if I could fill out any paperwork while waiting, thinking it might save time. Her response, however, was just as dismissive. She repeated, “Sir, when it’s your turn, we’ll call you,” in a tone that was not only unhelpful but also condescending. When I gently asked how long the wait might be, her behavior became increasingly rude and confrontational. In an effort to de-escalate the situation, I calmly asked her to speak to me with more respect. Instead of correcting her behavior, she responded with a dismissive, almost mocking tone, saying she was pointing at the computer, not at me. Then, in what felt like a deliberate act of discrimination, she added, “I don’t understand your accent.” This comment was deeply offensive. I had been speaking clearly, and it became apparent that this was not just about rudeness, but about something more troubling—an attempt to undermine and belittle me because of my background. At that point, I knew I couldn’t tolerate such disrespect any longer. I told her, firmly but politely, that I wouldn’t stand for such behavior and asked her to cancel my appointment. Her response was to loudly and sarcastically say, “Have a good day,” in a manner that only intensified the disrespect I had already felt. This experience left me deeply disappointed, not only because of the lack of professionalism but also because of the discriminatory undertones in the way I was treated. No patient should have to endure such behavior, especially in a healthcare setting where respect and empathy should be the foundation of every interaction. While I didn’t want to cause a scene, I feel it’s important to voice my concerns so that this kind of treatment doesn’t happen to others.

Receptionists have nasty attitudes which brings the patient experience down. They seem to get so annoyed if you ask questions or for further clarification on something and they are the farthest thing from welcoming. Those women are not kind AT ALL and honestly make patients who are already in discomfort due to eye-related issues, even more uncomfortable. Please proceed with caution and read other reviews about reception before booking an appointment. Now with that out of the way Dr.Lee and the other medical staff that take care of you once your appointment begins - are amazing! They are so kind, reassuring, gentle, professional and experts at what they do. I accompanied my partner who was a first time patient and it was an amazing visit with Dr.Lee We will most likely be looking for another office just solely off of the bad attitudes from the front desk staff, but nonetheless if you are looking for a good doctor schedule with Dr.Lee
